I’m still not sure if the flood of photo and video editing devices and software has come at the right time or has made it the right time. In our image taking obsessed world making and playing with the videos you have created is available to everyone.

Filmora is pretty cool they offer free editing software in both Mac and PC versions.

Besides video editing there are 300 plus effects to jazz up your youtube and other masterpieces.

There’s plenty of support for you free product too. Naturally there’s a stream of video tutorials to take you through the start to finish process of using their software.

Filmora are so modest (I assume they didn’t want to spoil the cool layout of their homepage) they’ve hidden their help menu behind a small icon in the top right hand corner. Click on that and you’ll find all you need.

VSDC

VSDC is a pro company that hs jumped on the bandwagon and created a fantastic intuitive video software package that is downloadable and free.

Their homepage presentation has traces of their pro leanings. It tells us, “The video editor is intended for editing video files and creating videos of any complexity involving various visual and audio effects. The program offers rich functionality and yet has a simple and intuitive interface, allowing you to create videos with a bare minimum of efforts.”

But there’s no doubt their PC and Mac compatible software is up to the mark. You can download the 64 bit Video Editor x64 within minutes.

NCH VideoPad Video Editor

VideoPad Video Editor for Mac and PC is a fully featured video editor for creating professional quality videos in minutes. It has great effects and works across a range of platforms and products, phone, tablet, DVD and more.

Microsoft are offering Movie Creator a video editing program for free for PCs

They say,”it is is one of the best video editor and slideshow maker app in the store.”

And of course they back their claim up with a world of support and downloads.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s Mac stole the march on the home editing market with Final Cut Pro and later versions of IMovie.

IMovie still ships as part of the Mac OS suite that comes with each new Mac.

One of the good things about IMovie it remains so user friendly with such good results.
